The cradle of Beneventan faith is the cathedral, destroyed during World War II and subsequently rebuilt. Today, all its ancient charm is preserved in the medieval bronze fa├žade and doors and in the Longobard frescoes of the crypt.
The cathedral of Sant'Agata dei Goti is a precious artistic and religious pearl of Sannio, with the "giotteschi" frescoes of the medieval crypt.
Cerreto Sannita, in the 18th century, has a cultural and artistic revival. During this period the cathedral stands with its two "onion" bell towers.
